Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme
The Chief Minister launched the Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme in 2014 to provide pensions to widows, HIV patients and others to support their families and live a happier life. Now the scheme has been renewed in the year 2020 and the amount of pension has been increased so that every beneficiary will get more benefits from the Telangana Aasara scheme. They no longer have to go to work because they are sick.

Eligibility criteria
There are various eligibility criteria finalized for different eligible beneficiaries, which are available under the Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme for 2020: –
For Old Age:
✓ Age should be 65 years and above.
✓ The applicant belongs to primitive and Vulnerable tribal groups
✓ Only one pension per family, preferably women.
✓ Landless agricultural laborers, slum dwellers, rural artisans / artisans, informal sector porters, porters, rickshaw drivers, hand carts, fruit / flower sellers, snatchers, rag pickers, cobblers, distitu- tions and the like. Other rural or urban areas are also eligible.
✓ Especially in urban areas temporary, informal institutions or homeless people living in slums are eligible.
✓ Widows or people who are finally ill / disabled / persons 65 years of age or older are also eligible for non-guaranteed means of subsistence or social support.
For the widow
✓ Widow should be above 18 years of age.
✓ The applicant belongs to primitiveand Vulnerable tribal groups
✓ For Weaver
✓ Weaver must be over 50 years old.
✓The applicant belongs to aboriginal and weak tribal groups
✓ A family can only get one pension.
✓ Professionally, a person should be weaving regardless of rural or urban areas
For Toddy Tappers-
✓ Applicant must be over 50 years of age.
✓ The applicant belongs to primitive and weak tribal groups
✓ Professionally, the person should be in todi tapping whether he comes from rural or urban areas.
✓ The Beneficiary of Certification for the Toddy Tappers Pension must verify whether or not he is a registered member of the Toddy Tappers Cooperative Society.
For the disabled-
✓ Anyone of any age can apply for this scheme.
✓ The applicant belongs to primitive and weak tribal groups.
