The Assam government brought a scheme for all students living in the state. Today we will share with you the schemes details that is implemented by the Government of Assam to help all Assam students. The scheme is called Assam Pragyan Bharti Yojana for the year 2020. The scheme was launched by the Finance Minister of Assam to help all the poor government institution students living in the state of Assam. The Assam Pragyan Bharti Scheme is one of the major schemes launched by the Government of Assam. Through the implementation of this scheme, the Government of Assam will waive the admission fees of various government colleges and schools in Assam. Also, the government will provide free textbooks for students, undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students for uniforms with the following requirements. The government also offers a variety of benefits to students, such as educational loans and financial incentives.

Objective Of Pragyan Bharti Scheme

According to the Finance Minister of Assam, the main objective of the scheme is to help all the poor students living in the state of Assam. The Assam state finance minister said that all the students could not pay their financial fees due to the corona viruses lockdown and hence they started the scheme to help all the students. The scheme offers many benefits to the student and thereby helps the students to regain their education.

 Benefits of Assam Pragyan Bharti Scheme

The scheme has many benefits and some of the benefits are given below: –

• First, the Assam government will provide all the beneficiaries with the necessary textbooks, uniforms and all other necessities to attend school or college.

• The Assam government has allocated Rs. 1,000 to 1 lakh for students for textbooks, uniform or loan taken by them.

• Rs. 1500 and Rs. 2,000 textbook incentives will be provided to students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The government will give Rs. 1000 per students per month for their mess dues.

• One time education loan subsidy of Rs. 50,000 will be given

• Scooters will be provided to 20,000 Meritorious female students in the 12th grade.

• All admissions from Higher Secondary level to Post Graduate level are completely free for all students for the 2020-21 academic year.

• This free admission is also applicable for courses like Medical, Engineering, Polytechnic.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam Pragyan Bharti

There are no specific eligibility criteria to be followed by students when applying for this scheme, but the basic eligibility criteria is as follows-

✓ The students who are residing in the state of Assam.
✓ Students must attend a government or government-aided school or college.
✓ The student must be a graduate or post graduate.
✓ The government under this scheme will give different benefits to different types of students.

There is no specific application process that a student must follow to apply for the scheme. But you can only contact your respective college or school authorities to obtain this scheme. You must remember that only government school/college students are eligible to get the benefits of the scheme.
