10th June,2021 : Chief minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Thursday that the government had decided to double the benefits for farmers under the ‘Krishak Bandhu’ scheme.

Now farmers with landholding of 1 acre or more will get Rs 10,000 per annum instead of the previous assistance of Rs 5,000 annually.

Krishak Bandhu Scheme 2022

CM Mamata Banerjee announced the scheme in 2019. Now many farmers are getting financial support of Rs. 5000 per year. But on 10th June 2021 in a cabinet meeting, Mamata Banerjee announced that the financial assistance of Rs. 5000 will be doubled. Now the farmers will get Rs.10000 per year. This financial assistance is given in two installments. One is for Kharif season and the other is for Rabi crop season. The farmers receive cheques.

Details of Krishak Bandhu Scheme

Objective of Krishak Bandhu Scheme

The government launched the scheme with some objectives. Many farmers can’t cultivate their own land due to financial condition. Because to cultivate their land they need fertilizer, seed, labours etc. 

 But they don’t have enough money to continue their cultivation. So, the government decided to give financial support to the farmers so that they don’t need to face any problem. 

For two different seasons Kharif and Rabi two different installments are given.

Benefits of the Scheme

The eligible farmers get two types of benefits under the Krishak Bandhu Prakalpa. One is direct financial assistance and other is insurance coverage. 

a) maximum of Rs. 10000/- (Rupees Five thousand) only for upto 1 (one) acre of land per year;

b) for less than 1 (one) acre of land on pro-rata basis commensurate with the area of land holding, subject to a minimum of Rs. 4000/- (Rupees One Thousand) only;

Assured Financial Assistance

The beneficiary farmers get total Rs.10000 per annum into two installments. One is in the season of Kharif and another is in the season of Rabi.

Krishak Bandhu death Benefit

Besides this financial assistance the farmers will also come under insurance cover of Rs.2 lakhs. If any beneficiary farmer dies, his family gets Rs.200000 under Krishak Bandhu Scheme.

Eligibility Criteria for Krishak Bandhu Scheme

All the farmers including recorded Bhagchasi (Share Croper) are eligible for the scheme. But they should have some eligibility criteria to get benefits under the scheme.

• The farmers should be the resident of West Bengal.

• The farmers should have their own land and record.

• Their age should be between 18 to 60.

The applicant should have the following documents to get the benefits under the scheme Krishak Bandhu Yojana.

• Voter Card,

• Aadhar Card,

• Pan Card,

• Krishak Bandhu Card.

• Self-Declaration of Applicant

• ROR Copy

Required Documents for Death Insurance Benefits

If any applicant want to get death insurance coverage amount, he/she should need the following documents.

• Voter Card,

• Aadhar Card,

• Driving License,

• Pan Card,

• Passport etc.

• Death Certificate Attested Copy

• Krishak Bandhu Card Attested Copy

• Self-Declaration of Applicant Attested Copy

• ROR Attested Copy

• Legal/ natural guardian declaration in case of minor claimant.

If you have the above eligibility criteria, you can easily apply or register for Krishak Bandhu Scheme online. You need to visit official portal and you have to do form fill up. The step by step procedure is given below.

•  First you have to visit official portal of Krishak Bandhu Scheme.

• Then you need to click on ” প্রকল্প ব্যবস্থাপনা or কৃষি বিভাগ” on the homepage.

• After that you need to login with username and password. ( If you don’t have username and password, click on sign up)

• Then you need to fill in required information

• such as Department, role, email id , username and password, name etc.

• Next click on submit button.

• After that you will get username and password.

• Finally you have to login with new username and password and fill up the application form online.
