Odisha Madhu Babu Pension Yojana
The Madhu Babu Pension Scheme was launched in January 2008 by the Social Security and Disability Empowerment Department of the Government of Odisha. The scheme is a merger of two pension schemes Revised Old Age Pension Rules, 1989 and Disability Pension Rules, 1985. State old age or PWD or widows can apply for this scheme. Under this scheme the state government gives pension to the beneficiaries. The scheme will benefit about 50 lakh applicants.
Madhu Babu Pension Yojana for Transgenders
On July 4, 2020, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved a proposal to provide pension to transgender people under the Madhu Babu Pension Scheme. Approximate 5000 people of this community will get a monthly payment of Rs. 500 and Rs. 900. As per the SSEPD Minister Mr. minister Ashok Panda Pension amount which is given to them is depends on their age. To apply for the scheme applicants need to fill up an online application form from the Online Security Department of Social Security and Persons Disability Website (SSEPD).

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants aged 60 years and above
- Or widow of any age
- Or leprosy with signs of disability at any age
- PWD for anyone of any age
- Or AIDS patients of any age identified by the State / District AIDS Control Society
- The annual income of the applicant’s family is Rs. 24000 / –
- Only permanent residents of Odisha can apply
- The applicant should not avail the benefit of any other pension scheme with the assistance of Central Government or State Government or any government.

Application for Madhu Babu Pension Yojana
You need to apply online or offline to apply for the scheme. To apply for this scheme through offline mode, you need to go to the Block Development Officer or the office of the Municipality / NIC Executive Officer. Or to apply online, you need to follow the steps below:
- Visit the official website of the Department of Social Security and Disability Empowerment
- From the home page, you need to go to the “Apply for Scheme” option and click on it
- A new page will appear on the screen where you need to select “Madhu Babu Pension Scheme”.
- Click “Proceed” option and application form will appear on the screen or click here to open the form directly.
- Select the scheme type and enter the name, father / spouse name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, Aadhaar number, district, sub-division, address and social category.
- You will then need to upload a scanned copy of your Aadhaar card, thumb print or signature and recent passport size images.
- Read the ad carefully and tick the checkbox
- Click on the “Submit” option after reviewing the details
