Joy Bangla Pension Scheme
West Bengal Joy Bangla Pension Scheme launched in phases. These two phases will benefit the socially backward sections of our society who are Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes separately. The scheme, launched for the Scheduled Castes, is called the Taposli Bondhu Pension Scheme. The scheme launched for the Scheduled Tribes category is called the Jai Johar Scheme. Both these schemes will benefit different castes and communities in the society.

Benefits Of Joy Bangla Pension Scheme
The West Bengal Bangla Pension Scheme has several benefits, announced by West Bengal State Finance Minister Amit Mitra. First, two schemes will be launched under a basic scheme called the West Bengal Joy Bangla Scheme. Residents of the state of West Bengal are offered two different schemes so that they can avail the scheme separately. Different types of incentives are available under each scheme.
Incentives Under The Scheme
The following is a list of incentives available to West Bengal residents: –
Rs.600 / – will be given to all the beneficiaries under Taposhali Bandhu Pension Scheme.
Rs.1000 / – will be given to all the beneficiaries under Jai Johar Scheme.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the West Bengal Pension Scheme, you must fullfill the following eligibility criteria: –
The applicant should be a permanent resident of the State of West Bengal.
Applicant belongs to BPL category.
An applicant belongs to a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe community.
The age of the applicant should not exceed 60 years
The applicant should not be enrolled in other pension schemes in the State of West Bengal.

Beneficiaries will get benefit directly into their bank account
The government will soon launch a special portal for the scheme.
The scheme will benefit 21 lakh people in the state
Any SC / ST candidate of age / widow / PWD can apply.
The government has not yet finalized the budget

The following documents are required while applying for the West Bengal Joy Bangla pension scheme:-

Copy of Digital Certificate from Appropriate Authority
A Copy of Digital Ration Card
Copy of Aadhaar Card, if available

The Copy of Residential Certificate (Self Declaration)
Copy of Income Certificate (Self Declaration)
Copy of Bank Pass Book.
In Case Of Death
If the candidate of the pension scheme of West Bengal in terms of the time of pension dies, then the following procedures will be undertaken by the concerned authorities:-
On the death of an applicant of pension and after proper verification of such information, the Department shall take steps for the stoppage of pension.
In case of death of the recipient of pension, the amount due shall be released to the nominee as indicated in the application form.
Application Procedure Of Joy Bangla Pension Scheme
To apply for West Bengal Joy Bangla Scheme, you need to follow the following application procedure: –
After landing on the homepage, click on the West Bengal Bangla Pension Scheme Registration Name option.
The application form will be displayed on your screen.
You can also get this application form from your nearest government office.

Fill out the application form.
Take a print out of the application form and fill in the details like Beneficiary Name, Gender, DOB, Age, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Caste etc.
Then attach the documents as listed
You have to submit the completed application form to the following offices in your area-
The Block Development Officer in case the applicant residing in rural areas
The Sub-Divisional Officer in case of the applicant is residing in Municipal / Notified areas outside the areas of Kolkata Municipal Corporation
Commissioner of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in case the applicant residing in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation area.

The application should be filled only with the exact details in the block letter
Remember to fill in the mandatory column
Submit only self-certified copies of documents
Passport size photograph should be mentioned in the application form
Selection Procedure Of Joy Bangla Pension Beneficiary
After you submit the form, the following selection process will be done by the concerned authorities: –
The application form can be modified by the BDO / SDO or KMC Commissioner
They will determine the eligibility of applicants under this scheme.
All physically submitted eligibility forms will be digitally uploaded and uploaded into KMC’s BDO / SDO 0r Commissioner State Portal.
BDO and SDO will recommend the names of eligible persons in digital form to the District Magistrate through the State Portal.
It is then sent to the District Magistrate Nodal Division.
The names of the eligible persons are recommended by the Commissioner directly to the nodal department through the KMC State Portal.
The nodal department approves the pension
Payment will be made directly to Beneficiaries bank account via the WBIFMS portal.
The State Portal for Uninterrupted Distribution of Pension Distribution is linked with WBIFMS
The pension is approved on the 1st of every month.
