Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for different types of scholarship schemes are given below:-
Pre- matric Scholarship
- The applicant should be a Resident in West Bengal.
- Applicant should be studying in a school / institution recognized by the State / Central Government Board of Education / Council / University.
- The applicant should not secured less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
- Annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs.
- Students studying in institutions outside West Bengal are not eligible for pre-matriculation or post-metric scholarship.
Post-matric Scholarship
- The applicant should be the Resident of West Bengal.
- Applicant should be studying in a school / institution recognized by the State / Central Government Board of Education / Council / University.
- The applicant should not get less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
- Annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs.
- Students studying in institutions outside West Bengal are not eligible for pre-matriculation or post-metric scholarship.
Merit Cum- Means Scholarships
- The applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
- The applicant must have got admission in a technical/professional course.
- The applicant must get at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation examination.
- The annual family income of the student should not exceed Rs.2.5 lakh.
- The students who are residents of West Bengal but pursuing studies in listed institutions located outside West Bengal, as may be notified from time to time by the West Bengal Minorities’ Development and Finance Corporation, are also eligible for applying.
Talent Support stipend
- The applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
- Applicant should take admission in Technical / Professional course.
- Candidate should have secured at least 50% marks in Final Higher Secondary / Graduate Examination.
- The annual family income of the student should not exceed Rs. 25 lakhs.
- The students who are residents of West Bengal but pursuing studies in listed institutions located outside West Bengal, as may be notified from time to time by the West Bengal Minorities’ Development and Finance Corporation, are also eligible for applying.
SWAMI VIVEKANANDA MERIT CUM MEANS SCHOLARSHIP
- The applicant must be a student of Class – XI and XII
- Or the applicant must be under the Graduate level in Engineering, Medical and Technical / Professional courses besides Under Graduate, Post Graduate level students pursuing General Degree courses.
- The scholarships will be sanctioned to deserving students on merit-cum-means criteria.
- Students pursuing M.Phil courses and Doctoral courses from State-aided Institutions are eligible.
- The upper ceiling for family income has been fixed at Rs.2,50,000/- per annum.

- Students pursuing 10, 12, undergraduate or postgraduate level can apply for the scholarship program
- Annual family income for SC and ST categories should not exceed 2.5 lakhs
- Annual family income for OBC category should not exceed Rs
- The selected candidate will get a monthly scholarship amounting to Rs.3000
- The students studying in educational institutions outside West Bengal are not eligible for the scheme.
Eligibility of Hindi Scholarship Scheme
- The candidate should be a permanent resident of West Bengal
- Candidate should have scored 60% or more in the previous qualifying course
- Hindi must be one of the compulsory subjects to get the scholarship
- Candidate must be from a non-Hindi speaking state
- The selected candidate will get around Rs 3000 to 10000 per month.
- All the students studying in educational institutions outside West Bengal are not eligible for the scheme.
